Bank Holiday Bargains

This morning's weather was kind to us so we were at the car boot sale for 8am. Here's just a few of today's boot sale bargains.

A pair of cheesecloth harem pants by "Just In at Debenhams". This was a trendy range back in the 1970's when I was a kid reluctantly being dragged around the town by my fashionista mother, a snip at £1.50.

Vintage suede lace-up ankle boots by Sacha, London. Another popular 1970's brand, still going strong today. These cost me 50p and despite only being marked as a "38" fit my hooves a treat.

Indian-made, quilted hippie-chic waistcoat in black cotton threaded with silver lurex thread and fastening with bell-trimmed ties. The seller was the proud owner of a yellow 1968 VW Beetle and bought this from a boutique in Brighton in the late '70's. Price: £1.50

I'm also wearing a jumble sale vest, assorted Indian bangles, rings and earrings and a 1970's Celtic bird pendant bought from last week's boot sale for £1.

The early start's definately taken it's toll on me, I had to have several photo sessions before I even resembled a human being.

Plans for this evening? A cheeky Bank Holiday Bacardi and coke and a re-run of Easy Rider.

Oooooh, those boots. I had a brown suede pair that eventually fell apart about 15 years ago, that I just loved, been on the lookout for something similar ever since. Love your 70s theme today, but the Bacardi and Coke is very 80s!! Enjoy, anyway xx

Sad news about Dennis Hopper, was watching his story on the news last night.

Cheesecloth is such a wonderful fabric! So 70s, yet the resurgence of the harem pant means they're so modern and very on trend! Although you give them your own unique style stamp - as always! xx

All of the details work together perfectly. I just can't get over the great embroidery on the ankles of the harem pants, nor do I want to. :]

I believe that's a Louis heel! I don't think I've ever had a shoe with a Louis heel. Damn. You have a great eye for putting stuff together.

This is a great outfit for an incredibly good price. You are such a gifted thrifter, Vix! (and I certainly can't have my picture taken before lunch time, no matter how much I sleep; it's where age shows.)
I've got a hunch there are some Easy Rider posts in the making in (fashion) blogger land. xx

Dear Vix,
this outfit rocks my world!
I love love love the awesome Harem pants; cheesecloth is such a great fabric for summer too! I think this would be a sublime festival get up, comfy & supremely hippie chic all rolled into one!
I can just imagine Kate Moss jealously spying those pants at Glasto & then next year featuring them in her Topshop collection ;)

Oooh, I'm so jealous of your harem pants I can barely comment lol. You do so so well at car boots sales, I am sure we do not have anything that fashion savvy at any of them in Coventry!
